Pop ups from area maps
A very varied area which always make you think. Used for both Local and Regional events (the latter subject to finding an available car park) A sandy bluff which used to be the bank of the river Severn, flat former flood plain below, gently sloping plateau above. Mostly rough open heath with patches of windblown sand, broome and gorse. Large & small patches of naturally seeded birch and oak and 2 small conifer plantations offer fast running. A former rabbit…
Excellent area for local events; can be tricky at night! A country park consisting of a wooded valley floor and sides – birch, oak and sweet chestnuts. Lots of sandstone pillars, crags and spurs.
Mixed woodland straddling a fairly steep ridge. Not all of the wood is “runnable” but creative planning has allowed a Blue length course. Very attractive wood, particularly in bluebell season.

Reclaimed industrial land turned nature reserve. Permanent Orienteering Course with five maps offering courses of varying length and dificulty. Suitable for Local events.
