Burlish Top Winter Evening Event 09-01-25
It was one of the rare occasions when a WEE was actually quite wintry. Putting out controls
in the afternoon sun was a pleasure, but the temperature dropped back below freezing as
the sun went down. The upside was firm conditions underfoot after the mudbaths of
Hollybed Common and Longdon Orchard.
Evidently the 6.3km course wasn’t quite long enough as six runners cleared it within time,
with Simon scoring a very effective win in just over 50 minutes. James Thomas gets the
Jammy Dodger for clearing the course with only three seconds to spare.
Apologies to those who emailed to reserve a map – I’d made an error in the address on the
flyer. Luckily I had just enough maps to go round.
Next week (16 Jan) we’re back on the streets at Wardon village on the east side of
Worcester, then on 23 Jan we’re in the woods again at Pitcheroak, Redditch. See you there!
