2023 Prize Presentation
The winners of two prestigious trophies were announced. The 2022 Harlequin of the Year was presented to Bob Scott for his tireless work in obtaining permission for the Birmingham Urban, in the aftermath of a global pandemic and in the midst of preparations for the Commonwealth Games. Summer Series – 1st April, Highbury Park
The opening event of the Summer Series will be held at Highbury Park, in Birmingham on Saturday 1st April. The park was originally the urban farm owned by the Chamberlain family who lived in the neighbouring Highbury Hall. The park and the neighbouring gardens are a beautiful oasis in the suburbs of Birmingham with a lake, ponds and several woodland areas. Compass Sport Cup Qualifiers, Park Hall 12 March 2023.
Captain Kerstin says: I would be the first to admit I was not feeling it yesterday. Even less so after my own run, I was out for a long time and many of you agreed it was a tough day. Compass Sport Cup – we did it!
Congratulations to the HOC team who competed in today’s Compass Sport Cup regional qualifier at Park Hall. An enthusiastic team of experienced and new members overcame the mud to qualify for the final to be held in the Forest of Dean in November.
2022/23 Night Street League Champions are…..
Series Co-ordinator John reports: I am grateful to the organisers of this season’s Night Street League events who attracted a total of 69 runners to their events with 106 individual runs in all. It was great to see some familiar faces as well as some newcomers, and members from other local clubs, attracted by the range of events that we put on.
